We value all generations in our congregation, and appreciate how every age group contributes to the life and vitality of congregational life.
To serve the needs of each generation, we have special ministries which provide additional services, including:
Our members actively support a ministry to a women’s refuge and homeless youth. Toiletry bags (carebags) containing items such as deodorant, shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, wash cloth, and other items are donated and packed by members, and then delivered to assist those in need in times of crisis.
We welcome community support for this outreach as it is welcomed by hundreds of people.
We also support a food pantry run by another family organisation which provides emergency food hampers for clients.
Our congregation also supports Australian and overseas mission work through GCI Mission:
As the name implies, the mission of GCI Mission is to offer care in spiritual and physical ways – in word and deed – so that those who lack may personally experience good news.
GCI Mission is involved in humanitarian relief, mission development and pastoral support within Australia, the region of southern Asia and the south Pacific islands.
GCI Mission is to continue the work of Jesus Christ who said, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour. Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
